Bethany The Jeel al Amal Home for boys is visited by many pilgrim parties and we now have a regular monthly commitment of support for this work. For many pilgrims this is the highlight of their pilgrimage and as a result many churches are now firm supporters of this wonderful work. Bethany is now separated from Jerusalem by Israel’s security wall making life at the home very difficult and our support more important than ever.
Bethlehem In Bethlehem, Edmund Shehadeh is the director of the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation. BASR aims to enhance the overall quality of life for hundreds of disabled children and their families, helping them to integrate into society, to be independent and to live with respect and dignity. The alternative for these children would be a severely limited existence shut away from the world, and with little hope for their parents.
Helen Shehadeh is Edmund’s sister and she is responsible for the wonderful work being done at the Al Shurooq School for visually impared children, situated nearby. Pilgrim parties are made very welcome when they visit and the McCabe Educational Trust channels regular contributions to enable this remarkable family to continue their essential work in the most difficult of circumstances.
India & Nepal The Trust is the partner of three very different schools.
In the plains of India Andrew McCabe is patron of The James Harvey Memorial School and Anand Niwas Boys Home. Here the Trust takes full responsibility for accommodating and educating eighty needy boys. For more information

The Trust supports the UK committee of Dr Grahams Homes in Kalimpong and encourages supporters to sponsor a child. Alistair McCabe was born at the Homes and the McCabe family have a long association with this unique establishment.

Daduwa School in Nepal was built with Trust funds and today five hundred children attend a school at an altitude higher than Ben Nevis! We regularly visit and support this “McCabe” school and recently installed a library – no small feat in this remote location. For more information CLICK HERE
Christmas Gift The trust supports the indigenous Christian community of Jerusalem every Christmas with gifts of food parcels and assistance with school fees. Many Christians in the Holy Land feel isolated and live with severe financial pressures. Our gifts are a practical way for pilgrims to show their concern.
You choose! We welcome suggestions of worthy recipients of our help. If you would like to help an organisation you have met while on pilgrimage send us your donation with a covering letter. If your gift fits within our charity’s remit, we will forward it to the nominated recipient with NO deductions for administration. If you ask for your donation to be “giftaided” we add the tax rebate to your donation.
